REFLECTION
Over the last three years that I had spent at Taylor's University was the greatest decision that I have made in my life. I have found my passion and my future in this industry. I have been applying all the skills and knowledge that I had learned into all sorts of service I did, whether it is an internship or during part-time. I have demonstrated professional working attitudes to all the task that I have been given too. Through all the training in University or Hotel internship placement, I have developed hospitality management skills. My overall experience in Regent Taipei, Taiwan was fun I learned and understand the different working culture in the different country. I have been able to significantly improve my communication skills with guest and colleagues. I am able to serve and talk to all the guest from all over the world. Billing is one of the new things that I have gained in this internship and I have real experience to work under pressure in my second internship. I have also improved my leadership skills since I have been a leader for one of the stations in the restaurant. I would like to thanks to all people that have contributed and sharing their knowledge of this industry whether it is in the university or in the internship placement colleagues.

To sums up my first year at Taylor’s University. I have learned new knowledge in this past two semester. In the first semester, mostly it is about the introduction module in the hospitality industry. The most interesting module is Kitchen Operations 1, this module helps me gain my interest to step into the kitchen. Which make me wanted to learn how to cook and different terminologies that are used in the industry itself. Besides that, I also learned the basic of Food and Beverage Operations 1, this module I get to know many different types of equipment that is used in this F&B Operation. For the second year, I learned the real service of a restaurant, front of the house or even back of the house. It is very interesting where I can serve real customers. I also got a chance to be a bartender, where I create mocktails and do a barista job. Basically, all Taylor’s Capabilities Graduate (TGC) is used in every semester. All TGC’s is important for each of us Taylorians to improve ourselves. To be specific this e-portfolio is one of our TGC’s, called Digital and IT Literacy, where I used the technology and the internet to do this portfolio, where it is modern and updateable.
